Raeda Debaja only came to the Michigan Veterans Foundation to pursue a career in nursing.
During her internship, she saw how MVF’s case managers helped veterans experiencing homelessness rebuild stability and reconnect with their communities. That experience opened her eyes to another way of caring for people and changed the course of her career.
With the mentorship of Mr. Chapman, a Vietnam veteran who led the organization before her, Raeda grew from administrative assistant to executive director and, ultimately, CEO. Today, she carries his legacy forward and leads the work that first inspired her to stay.
Watch Raeda share the story behind her journey and the mission she now leads.
